A Great Canadian Running Challenge is committed to helping people from across the country come together for the good of our health and fitness goals.

Join participants from across the country in A Great Canadian Virtual Challenge to help fight anxiety and stress during the month of April!

This virtual challenge was created for you!  As many races have been cancelled, we know you may need some motivation to keep moving every day!  The crisis in our world has had some major impact on our lives.  We may not be able to control what is happening on the outside, but we surely can work on controlling how we handle our insides…our minds, bodies and souls.

It is a proven fact that exercise and healthy eating habits have huge impacts on our mental and physical health.  It is not always easy to commit and stay focussed on ourselves when we are surrounded in a world filled with chaos!

It is time to take control of what you can.  Reset your mind, body and soul during the month of April!  Join a challenge that will keep you motivated and focused on your health and well-being!

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What is The April 100K Challenge?

The April 100K Challenge is a virtual challenge created for you!  As many races have been cancelled, we know you may need some motivation to keep moving every day!  The crisis in our world has had some major impact on our lives.  We may not be able to control what is happening on the outside, but we surely can work on controlling how we handle our insides…our minds, bodies and souls.

2.  What about social distancing?

We are required to practice social distancing by law.  This means we are not supposed to be within 2 meters of another human being (unless they live with us). We can continue to walk, jog or run outdoors on our own.  The streets are bare.  It is more important now than ever to get a daily dose of fresh air.  This is the perfect time for you to get out there and hit the pavement.  You also have many options to get moving inside your own home!  The possibilities are endless!

3. What form of exercise can be logged for this challenge?

Due to the current situation, any form of exercise that tracks kilometers will be acceptable in this virtual challenge.  This challenge was created to fight stress and anxiety and it is a proven fact that exercise helps.

4.  Do the kilometers I log count toward A Great Canadian Running Challenge 2020 challenge?

You are encouraged to continue to log intentional walking, jogging and running for the 2020 challenge.  Due to our current situation, you may log other forms of exercise at your own discretion.

5. How do I track and log my kilometers?

You can log kilometers any way you’d like.  You must check-in on Sundays to be entered for the prizes!

6.  How will you know that I finished the challenge?

We will be using the check-in forms to verify that you have finished the challenge.

7. What if someone cheat?

Unfortunately, we cannot control this issue. If someone cheats, he/she is only deceiving himself/herself. There is nothing we can do about it, and this should not affect the outcome of you reaching your own goals.  A Great Canadian Running Challenge may ask for proof of logged kilometers for the month.

8. I am not Canadian. Can I participate in this challenge?

Anyone can participate in this challenge! We would never discourage anyone from registering for such a great event.  You are welcome to come and see what Canada is all about!
