Getting to Know Trevor!
How often do you run?
I generally run and train 6 days a week, primarily taking Fridays as rest days. Occasionally, I will take a 2nd day off when scheduling a slower week or when tapering for a big race!
How do you stay motivated and find the time to run?
I stay motivated by having certain goal races in mind for each year. I stay motivated by being a part of a couple of great running groups that help support and inspire one another. Running is a lifestyle or becomes a lifestyle as you make it a priority. Fortunately, my son is older and so I have more free time. He is also my primary training partner! So together, we motivate each other and help keep each other focused!
What advice would you give someone to stay focused on reaching 1000 KM in 2020?
Set a series of goals! Break down the 1000km into months or quarters/seasons. Register for an event, whether as a walker or a runner! This provides motivation to prepare for the event. The event day is inspiring and energizing! So much positive energy and camaraderie and support at events!
My main goal for 2020 was not really distance-based. As I hit 1000km early, my main goal this year was to beat my personal best marathon time, and run under 2:40:00 for 1st time!
Trevor has been a part of A Great Canadian Running Challenge for three years!
Wow you cover a lot of ground! You are a leader to all of us registered for the 1000km in 2020
I have ran 9 marathons including a half iron man and this year I am running / waking pushing a stroller to burn off my baby belly she is 5 months. 2020 goals
